Aaron Chiundura Moyo’s name means different things to different people, to some he is most famous for being the brains behind Zimbabwe’s first ever soap opera, Studio 263. He is a prolific novelist, playwright and an actor. His first production was “Uchandifungawo” while some of his other works include “Ziva Kwawakabva”, “Yaive Hondo”, “Wandibaya PaNyama Nhete” and “Kuridza Ngoma Nedemo”.

Most of us have enjoyed holidays like Christmas playing local music which we never paid for. We have watched local dramas, film and street theatre and we have read local novels for free. Right now, most of us have music in our phones and computers and can’t explain where or how we got it.

Here is one legend, Aaron Chiundura Moyo. If you feel you did not do much to appreciate the entertainment he has given you over the years, here is your chance.

To claim to present him in a story of a thousand or so words is a fallacy; he cannot be captured in a few paragraphs.

We have had great entertainers in our country, from music to books to sports to acting.

Sadly, we don’t get full-talent-life due to poor remuneration of the entertainers. Our celebrities are not rewarded enough to keep creating and piracy is so rampant in the country that most of the entertainers cannot even afford a decent lifestyle.

It’s time we change this. Send your contribution to your favourite local Musician, Actor, Footballer, DJ, etc. Invite your friends to also support the cause. Let’s make our entertainers happy and keep them creating.
